Beautiful Gift Box

Hi,
Today`s post is a gift box i made just the other day,
It was a trial to see if i could make a large- ish box just using A4 card stock.
I wanted it to be big enough to fit the Swirly snowflakes thinlits dies across each side with just a little trimming off the edges.
Dimensions of the box are 5.5 x 5.5
and the height is 5 1/4 inch
It turned out better than i though and out of just 3 sheets of A4 Very Vanilla thick card for the actual box and lid construction.

For the lid cut and layered Gold foil card with more Very vanilla card twice, the larger square of Very Vanilla has been embossed using the planks dynamic embossing folder.
for the very top layer i cut the intricate snowflake die twice and cut around to release the individual snowflakes.
I used little dabs of glue to stick four of them to the top, one at each corner.
I cut the smaller snowflakes from the die set and added them to the spaces in between.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Tags and Trimmings stamp set in gold embossing powder and but using the 6th largest circle die from the Layering Circle dies and mounted that onto a slightly larger gold foil scalloped circle from the same die set then used Stampin dimensional to stick to the centre of the lid box lid.
For the decoration around the box lid i cut four pieces of foil at 2.5 x 5 1/4 and used the outer edge die from the Swirly snowflakes thinlits dies then lined up the detail snowflake die ontopp and ran it threw to just emboss on it, then glues it inside the box lid on each side.
For the outer lid decoration i cut gold foil to 1 x 5 1/4 and also ran it threw to only emboss the detail of the snowflake then glued to each side.

For the decoration around the bottom edge of the box
i first cut four pieces of gold foil sheet to the size of the detailed snowflake die and stuck them to a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive sheet, then ran each one threw my die cutter with the die.
It was then easy to remove the backing and stick the die cut straight to the box just trimming any bits that stuck over the sides.

For a finishing touch i cut a piece of foil sheet just short of 5.5 x 5.5 and added glue and placed in the bottom of the box.

I hope to get a PDF up soon to show the sizes and construction of the box.

Thanks for visiting
Hope you like,
